Kindergarten

Kindergarten registration is currently open for the 2026-27 schoolyear. Kindergarten registration is for children who will become five (5) years of age on or before December 1, 2026. Registration is open each school day at the District Office. Kindergarten screenings will take place in May. Registration requirements and documentation can be obtained from the District Registrar.

Please Note...

- If your child is currently enrolled in the CFE UPK program there is no need to register for kindergarten. 

Incoming kindergarten students for the 2026-27 school year are invited to attend Chenango Forks Elementary Kindergarten Signing Day Registration, where incoming Kindergarten families can celebrate this exciting milestone, meet school staff, and get ready for a fantastic year ahead.

Date: Thursday, May 14, 2026

Location: Chenango Forks Elementary School (Please enter through the lower entrance closest to the stadium.)

Time: 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Please be sure to bring the following (Copies are appreciated, but we can make copies if necessary):

• Your child's birth certificate, 
• A photo ID, and
• Two proofs of residency.

Your child will also take a special Signing Day photograph and participate in our Kindergarten screening process. During the screening, your child will complete a speech and language screening and a short assessment with a teacher. You will also meet with the transportation secretary, the school nurse, and an administrator.
